In order to be prepared to offer Facebook parties, there are some tasks and supplies that you may want to do.

a. Set up a Square account if you haven’t already:  You need to have a way to send email invoices to your customers for their purchases, which you can do with Square.  It gives the customer the option of paying with any credit/debit card through an emailed invoice.  It is safe and secure.  Sign up at www.squareup.com.  This is recommended for taking credit card payments at home parties and events as well.

b. Set up a Paypal account:  Sign up at www.paypal.com.  This allows you to purchase postage for shipping your orders.  Paypal has partnered with United States Postal Service (USPS) and it costs 30% cheaper to ship through Paypal (using the USPS) than it would if you were to just use the USPS.  Once you have set up an account, you will use your account information to log into www.paypal.com/shipnow.

c. I Recommend You Purchase the Following Shipping Supplies (if you plan to mail orders):

  • Shipping Scale

  • Half Sheet Shipping Labels

  • 8.5" x 11.25" Padded Mailers

  • 6.5" x 9.25" Padded Mailers

  • Priority Flat Rate Padded Mailers

For Packages that weigh 13 oz. or more, you will need to ship them by priority mail with the United States Postal Service (USPS).  The best deal is with the flat-rate envelopes that you can get for free from the Post Office. Go to the U.S. Postal Online Store to order the envelopes for free and they will be delivered to your door (in most areas).

d. I Recommend You Purchase the Following Facebook Live Supplies (if you plan to sell on Facebook Live):

  • Light Umbrellas

  • Phone Tripod
